Long Distance Song Effects was recorded at Chevalac Studios in Luzern, Switzerland. After meeting the studio owner Tobi Gmür on a European tour in 2010, he kindly allowed us to demo much of the record over the next 12 months. In the summer of 2011 with much of the groundwork done, we spent a month recording the album itself. The time was spent recording 25 songs, with the ambitious view to releasing a double album. As it invariably does though, common sense prevailed and the resulting collection of 11 songs was completed in London with string and horn arrangements being added at Dean Street Studios in Soho.
